How Does It Work?
When you add a can of DPF Cleaner Fluid to your fuel tank, it begins to work straight away in two ways. Firstly, it uses a catalyst to adhere to the soot particles during the combustion cycles, and lowers the temperature at which they can be burnt off at. Secondly, it increases the fuel burn temperature. By doing this, it causes the exhaust temperature to rise also, which in turns increases the temperature within the DPF. This allows the soot to be burnt off, thus regenerating the filter.
So, by adding a can of DPF Cleaner Fluid at every service/6,000 miles, you are ensuring the regeneration will take place, regardless of driving style (dependent on soot load, filter condition & age).
